About the program
Rebates are available to help homes and workplaces across B.C. get ready for electric vehicles (EVs). The program is funded by the Government of B.C. and administered by BC Hydro and FortisBC.
Pre-approval from BC Hydro is required before purchasing or installing chargers. The program deadline is February 28, 2021.
Rebate per charger increased for a limited time
*For a limited time effective December 3, 2020, the Government of B.C. is increasing the rebate you can get per EV charger. Offer available while funding lasts or until February 28, 2021, whichever is earlier.
Rebate offer
Workplace owners that purchase and install eligible EV chargers can receive a rebate of up to 50% of those costs, to a maximum of *$4,000 charger (regularly $2,000), and $14,000 per workplace. A business can apply for a maximum of four of their workplace sites, resulting in a maximum project rebate of $56,000.
EV Advisor
Workplaces looking to install EV chargers can get up to five hours of free advice and planning assistance from an expert in EV charging and equipment.
How they can help
In an initial consultation, advisors will collect information about the location and the employees' charging needs, and explain different charging options. This is a high-level review, not a substitute for an electrician or electrical engineer. Advisors can also work with building managers to help them understand EV charging quotes from contractors.
If you require more than five hours from an advisor, they can provide you with additional services at an hourly rate. Request help from an EV Advisor via email.
COVID-19 update
In-person EV advisor services are currently suspended for the safety of the advisors and our customers. Support is available via video or phone call.
